Break, waxing rhapsodic and Samaritan

- An enforced coffee break courtesy of a client who needed me to come back in about 45 minutes. Hmmm...what could I do with 45 minutes on a rainy day?

- Enjoying the enthusiasm of the born salesman behind the counter. As I contemplated the baked goods, he said, "You look like a pumpkin cream cheese muffin gal to me." He so waxed rhapsodic about the muffin that I had to try it. And he brought me a plastic knife so I could cut it and eat it so that the cream cheese could be enjoyed to full effect.

- Exiting the building I hear, "Miss, Miss!" A Samaritan runs after me with the umbrella that had fallen out of my bag. I thank him for saving me from drenching later. And I did need it - the city of Atlanta is experiencing unprecedented flooding from all the heavy rain.

I think you (and the natural-born salesman) made perfect use of the enforced break! Yummy!

I hope you get some clear skies soon, Lynn, or you'll be needing a motorboat to get around town!

I heard about the flooding on the news and was wondering about you. Hope you're staying dry!

That video footage is insane... please be careful, Lynn.

And I loved your three things today. Was the muffin as good as advertised?

I love it when people show some hustle at their job! He was great and made me smile.

Yes - we have two employees who can't get here today because they are hemmed in by flood waters. It's crazy!

Mama Zen -

I am staying dry for the most part. And seem to be in a charmed path for commuting (for now anyway.) Thank you for thinking of me.

Meredith -

I have never seen anything like that area of the connector being underwater.

The muffin was yummy - as good as he said it would be. :)

That looks soooo good. I haven't been to starbucks in a very long time!

My favorite thing at Starbucks - a grande non-fat latte. Yum.

If someone had said "You look like a pumpkin cream cheese muffin gal (or guy) to me." I would have told them to mind their own damn business and bought something else instead! :D

Salesman/women don't work on me! :D

I'm a glorified salesperson (account manager) and so admire someone who seems genuine when promoting a product. I can usually spot the fake people. :)

Well damn! I was *this* close to resisting Starbucks today...

It's not that Lynn, I just don't like someone suggesting anything like that to me. I'd just want to leave the shop. It's just to personal for me!

I know! I try to resist Starbucks, too. Because $$bucks$$ is the key word there. :)

Joe -

I understand now.

Around this neck of the woods, we prefer Tim Horton's to Starbucks!
Even Dunkin Donuts...
But that muffin did look killer!
I love ALL Muffins...hehehehe

G-man -

I saw something about Tim Horton's on CBS Sunday Morning, I think. I love any coffee shop - that one was just convenient. And the muffin was killer. :)

Cathy -

Check out today's post - more muffins!

Lynn,
The muffin (and coffee!) look delicious!! I've heard about the rain and floods. Be safe...

It is the little things in life that keep me happy - like coffee and muffins. :)

We had a dry day yesterday that hopefully helped some of those flood waters to recede. More rain on the way though, I hear...

That is funny! Love an excuse for a break!

I was fine, but some co-workers are still having a challenging commute in as they make their way around water. More rain coming this weekend...
