Box of cheer, nestled and welcome

- It is so exciting to get an unexpected package in the mail, this one from a friend who has the word "fun" right in her blogger name. It made my day with its cheery note (on beautiful stationery) thanking me for blogging! :) There were also fun photos and four little wrapped packages containing Snickers bars. I love the thought of her wrapping these packages - each one a little different. A box of cheer.

- Something (probably a squirrel) dug a crater into my pot of hens & chicks. This morning there is a pine cone nestled in the crater. Probably the squirrel was feeling guilty. :)

- A wee new family member, with lots of hair and a steadfast gaze, has arrived. Welcome to the world, baby girl!

Jannie -

You made me laugh and laugh as I was going through that box. Especially the part about you eating one of them. One of the four is in my purse as we speak. Apple for morning snack and Snickers for afternoon. Yay! xoxo

Such a lovely box. I love the care that went into each detail. :)

I agree, that pinecone is surely evidence of a guilty conscience. (Or perhaps a decorator flourish?)

Ah, sweet newborn gaze. They come trailing mystery and joy from that other realm, don't they?

What a sweet surprise! Jannie's a true sweetheart.

lol @ the pinecone. I think the squirrel wanted to cover his tracks.

Awww! A baby girl! How beautiful!

What a cool gift, and really well wrapped too. Have you eaten them all now? :D

Glad it was a pine cone and not a dead mouse. :D

Meredith -

Isn't it? And that squirrel - he probably saw that pinecone and decided to bring it back since he was so bad or, you might be right - thought it would look good in there. :)

I hope she got to meet my dad before entering our world...

Jannie is a sweetheart. And you all hold a place in my heart.

Joe -

I'll just have the one Snickers today. :) Oh the pleasure of pacing them out.

And you are right - thankfully no mouse. :)
