- This bench outside the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center makes a good resting place, most likely when it is not cold or hot outside. It is made from pieces of metal farm implements found on an abandoned farm in Morgan County.
- Meeting a client after hours (but still daylight) at their heavily gated compound and arriving to find the gates closed. She walks the mile down the driveway to hand me an envelope through the bars. I tell her that I kind of enjoy the appearance of subterfuge to passersby.
- A downright swoon inducing lunch at Figo Pasta. Ravioli made with roasted corn and truffle oil, topped with a Pomodoro sauce. I confess that I do not really know what truffles taste like, only that someone on Iron Chef America is always shaving them on top of a dish. But if the deliciousness of this dish is any indication, truffles are worth the price.

Hi Lynn,
That bench is awesome, I love it!!!
Love that seat too. Now that's what I call creative.
Pasta is my favourite food.
Lance -
Isn't it the coolest?

It is so creative. And pasta is my favorite, too. They also gave me a couple of pieces of focaccia bread. It was an impulse lunch - I was passing by there at 11:30 am and thinking how much I didn't want the Lean Cuisine frozen dinner I had waiting for me at the office.
That bench is taking recycling to an awesome level!
lol @ your "spy" activity.
Lunch sounded fabulous. I've never tasted truffles either - I always imagine it has an rich, earthy flavor...
oh my goodniss -- i love rostid corns so mutch!!!!
Talon -
I wish that dish didn't cost $10 - that was an expensive lunch, but I needed something good yesterday.
The spy thing came to me as she was walking in her red cape toward the gate with me on the other side. I thought the cars in traffic probably wondered what we were up to.
Blue Bunny -
Me, too - roasted corns are the best.
That bench is just so so clever. I recognize some mower blades, I think. Thanks for sharing that.
Smiling at number two! You clandestine one, you! wink, wink.
xo

The place is an industry association - not sure why it is so heavily gated or what secrets must lie within. :)
That is what I love about art like that - using every day things like a mower blade.

I knew you were a spy. ;) But I also know you're working for the good guys, of course. I can't imagine being sealed in that tightly in my compound after dark. Weird.
The bench is so cool. I love that it's all local throwaways recycled into something useful. (But you're right, no sitting on it from June to August or November to March, LOL.)
Never had truffles, either. You're making me curious now...
Meredith -
It is lock down after 5:30pm and I just did miss it.
I took three photos of the bench, but the first one was the best. I always do that. The minute I saw it, I knew it was going on the blog.
And I would like to taste actual truffles, but they cost so much. I a curious, too.
I'm kind of looking askance at the bench. Is it comfortable?
Mama Zen -
I confess that I did not sit down on it - it was so cold out that that alone would not make it comfy. :)
That bench is great! And as for the pasta...why does reading your blog always make me hungry?
You can buy Truffle Oil. It's pricey but so well worth it!
Love the bench!
Riot Kitty -
And that dish is something you could have. All vegetarian.
G-man -
Yes - I looked up truffle oil and think I will buy some.
Truffles are definitely a good thing!
(that lunch sounds heavenly)
Fun bench!
I love the subterfuge errand of your job. Maybe you should look into being a spy...
Your descriptions of food always make me hungry. Mmm.

Good things - that's what we are always on the lookout for here. :) It was lovely. It made the Lean Cuisine I had yesterday seem positively pedestrian.

They probably do like to have people who look like they would normally never be spies so they will blend in. I have a bit of an imagination.
I love food and describing it. :) And still love the artisan work that went into that and the bench.
I love that bench design- how interesting. Looks like valve handles- latches n stuff-
"that's BOND, Lynn Bond!"
I could never deal with being locked into "the grounds".
truffles oil?- The ravioli sound so yummy tho
ooo- I'm hungry again!

Lynn BOND - I like that! lol!
