Drizzly day, panda cam and a good story

- A windy drizzly day, but the trees sure are beautiful.

- Checking in on our Giant Panda, Lun Lun, and her as-yet-unnamed cub, the panda cam showing them having a cuddle. This is her third cub and I like to go to the panda cam at random times during the day to have a look.

- The librarian smiles when I check out a couple more books on CD - I tell her how much I love hearing a story when I am out and about during the week or on the road for travel. Listening to a good yarn makes it all so much better.

I hope good things are in store for you this weekend, my friends!

I used to listen to books on tape a lot and enjoyed them. These days I don't travel far enough to get very far into one!

I live on audio books. Would you believe that our small town does not have a library? Isn't that horrible!

Yarns in car are great. Hey yarn in a car? Remember the joke about the guy knitting while driving and the policeman says "Pull over! Pull over!!" to which knitting dude replies, "No Officer, it's a cardigan."

So silly.

I LOVE this time of year -- no more crushing heat for the next 6 months. Whoo-hoo!!

Oh yes, this weekend will be Stellar, I can just feel it in my marrow. Have a good one too.

xoxo

Hope you have a fabulous weekend, Lynn!

It's funny now to see all that beautiful color when ours are all gone :(

FB -

I can imagine. Very often I listen to books I would not read. And sometimes I'll cheat and listen to my book club book and say I read it.

Granny Annie -

I can't believe that. Even the no traffic light town my sister lives in has a library. Do you download them to an MP3 player?

Jannie -

I burst out laughing when I read your joke. Ha ha!

I'm so not missing that awful heat either.

You'll have that beautiful snow again I guess.

Yay - I like my poem. Thank you. I love watching those panda cubs grow and then they send them off to China.

Aren't they pretty?

I have the oddest aversion to books on tape. I adore NPR, so it really makes no sense.

It was a really drizzly day here in the UK too. I actually enjoyed it. Not sure why.

Have a wonderful weekend Lynn!

Panda cam was offline tonight! So disappointing. I'll have to check back tomorrow.

I got back on Thursday and the leaves here are all gone... Panda's are neat animals

I love the color on those trees! With all the driving I do a book on CD sounds perfect. I have to check into that next time I'm at the library.

I clicked on the link for the panda cam but it's offline. Too late I guess.

Happy weekend!!

I reallty like those tree colors- Good pic! Panda cam is a good idea- how cute! Thanks for the link-
Wish I could get to the library more, but my schedule calls for missed sleep to get there.
I still have never heard an audio book- bet I'm missing out. Still no CD player in Little Truck, either!
I like Jannies yarn joke!

Mama Zen -

I find it depends upon the voice on the audio book. I love Ian Rankin's books that are set in Scotland and love a Scottish accent, but couldn't get through listening to one his books on CD because of the thick accent. It was difficult for me to follow the plot when having to discern what he was saying.

Joe -

Sometimes I think it just has something to do with the changing of seasons - I don't mind a drizzly day, but it sure wreaks havoc with traffic during rush hour.

Sparkling Red -

Do check back - it is lovely to watch them. The cub is looking kind of pink right now.

Sage -

You had a lovely long trip, so I guess the leaves would be gone where you are by now.

Ily -

Sometimes I can't wait to get back in the car so I can hear what happens next in the story. The library is a great source for audio books, too.

Riot Kitty -

I love it, too. :)

Snaggle -

Yes - Jannie's yarn joke made me laugh out loud! :)

ooh, you've reminded me about a panda cam they had at the national zoo that my daughter and I used to check out every day for a while. Boy, that was years ago and brings back such fond memories.

I miss the first panda, Mei Lan. They sent her to China to live - it was part of the deal to get her parents at Zoo Atlanta. But there was massive excitement over her arrival and that was when they installed the panda cam.
