Potential firewood, puddles and chocolate = good

Photo by TS, taken with iPhone

- Niece's husband posts this picture on facebook of a fallen tree with the caption "Irene comes to Tudor City." Tudor City is the neighborhood in which they live in New York City. An uprooted tree is not really a good thing, but his friend's comment made me laugh, "Dude i hope this was not your favourite tree!"

- The little film posted on facebook of their toddler daughter running around in circles in the rain. Soaking wet and delighted with the puddles.

- All things from the internet today. A headline posted on The Atlantic, "Good News at Last: Chocolate Is Good for You! Maybe" The article by Marion Nestle can be read here. Her conclusion: "a little chocolate is delightful. A lot is not. As in all matters pertaining to diet, everything in moderation." But somehow I still think that is a bit of good news. :)

Hey, I got a dozen trees just like that at my house. :(

And good news on the chocolate. Nestles takes a bad rap with the liberals, but I think they make a dandy candy.

I know - I saw that. I hope that all gets cleared away quickly and the hole in the roof fixed.

The article is by a woman with the last name of Nestle, who has no affiliation with Nestle's chocolate. I'm a Cadbury's gal myself. :)

Trees just look wrong up-rooted, don't they?

I agree on the chocolate. I couldn't go a day without a nibble or two :)

Aw, I wish I could see the toddler doing her rain dance. She sounds adorable!

OF COURSE chocolate is good for you!

"...everything in moderation;" my motto, too.

Talon -

There is something sad about that, but there is potential for firewood. And chocolate should be one of the food groups.

I actually tried to see if I could download the little film of MS, but facebook didn't allow that - I could only share with facebook friends. Needless to say - she is a special little girl. So much personality - how could she not have that with such parents? Especially parents who let her run around in the rain...

FB -

Right? I know!

It's all good. Another motto. :)

I saw a headline that said something like, "Chocolate is good for you, but not too much." That could be read many ways.

Hilarious comment about the tree. I was worried about all of my East coast friends all weekend.

Same here. So much flooding of - in all places - Vermont. Just terrible.

Tough to see Irene wreaking havoc as is evident on the news we see here. Hopefully the tree can still be transplanted and get a fresh lease of life elsewhere.

Back here, concrete and paver blocks around tree bases have resulted water and nutrients not percolating down, often ending up with trees falling over.

So I need not feel guilty of all the chocolate I've had over the years.

Holy COW! IN NYNY, man! I cannot imagine the devastation in NH and CT either.

I was craving chocolate a while ago, but Kelly and I got a peanut butter cookie mix. Bought some chopped walnuts too. Thinking we'll stop for some chocolate chips on the way home. Be nice in them thar pb cookies, oh yeah!

I always have Fave trees! I used to run out into the rain when I was a litle tot! I finally bought Chocolate ice cream today! A "Power On" celebration!
