Inspiration, favorite and no worries

- Inspiration from this church sign spotted in the nether regions of North Georgia. In my family, there is a bit of a propensity to worry.

- Shelby to M'Lynn in a family favorite film Steel Magnolias: "Mama, you worry too much. In fact I never worry 'cause I always know you're worried enough for the both of us." My niece wrote this in a card to my sister.

- From my Franklin Covey planner from May 27, this quote from Winston Churchill: "When I look back on all these worries I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened."

I love the quote from Churchill. The thing about worrying is that it's the things we aren't worrying about that happen - those random events that bite us hard on an idle Tuesday afternoon. Unlike the boy scouts, you can't always be prepared...

My favorite saying about worry is, "Worry is but rust on the brain."

Ooh - that's a good one, Talon. I'll add it to my collection! And that is so true - your life can change in a heartbeat.

Hi! I came here through Jannie and G.

I love that sign. :-)

Yesterday, I told myself there are just some things beyond my control, and that made me feel much better about something I had been worrying about...

Hi Pink Ink! Thank you for stopping by.

It is great that you have that insight into yourself and that your worries were eased.

I like the workmanship that went into the sign - all the stonework and brickwork and the steps that were laid on the side so someone could change the message easily rather than having to get a stepladder. Great message, too. And I spotted it when I took a wrong turn...

Wrong turns can lead to a great adventure, huh? :-)

Absolutely! And that reminds me of one of my favorite books, "Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon. He took off driving and chronicled his adventures in the book. I've always sort of wanted to do that.

These 3 are all equally GREAT!! Above and beyond, my friend.

I must tell the 3rd one to my hubby, for reasons that should remain private, but I'll divulge here that he worries big-time about things that will never and have never actually happened, "worrying enough for the both of us," indeed.

So nice to see Pink here. She is another swell blogger!

Thank you Jannie. That sign gave great inspiration!

Just got back from being with still very sick Dad and frettful Mom in Middle Georgia. (I'm thinking maybe five fours logged in at that huge Wal-Mart. Groceries, wrong things, back again, etc.) They watch the Atlanta news and always think I am doomed to be a victim of crime. I just keeps saying not to worry... And I hope Jim will let go of the worrying.
