- This is what happens when you answer the question, "What would you like for a Christmas / birthday present?" with "wine glasses." :) (My kitchen cabinets are being refinished today and I had to clear out stuff to available surfaces, such as the bedroom chest of drawers here.)
- A friend's smile when describing her favorite birthday gift on Sunday. Her husband played Scrabble with her.
- A young man waiting on the bus amuses himself by bowing from the waist to each car passing him.

Sometimes I like to stand on my front step and wave at all the cars passing. Is that weird?

Not in the south!

At least your friends and family are really listening to what you tell them :) Just imagine how nice it will be to put them back in the newly refinished cabinets!
I'm glad your friend got to play Scrabble. Isn't it neat how simple things are such great gifts?
Did she win her birthday game, I wonder?
That's so funny about the wineglasses. They might have overdone it a bit, but you sure got some pretty ones in the mix. :)

We have all been giving gifts to each other for so long, that we are always relieved when someone announces what they would like as a gift. I had to call a halt to the glasses though. They kept coming. :)
Simple gifts like that game - so wonderful.

I don't know if she won - I think just getting to play with him was such a rare event that she was happy just to play.
Thank you - I am think of giving away the hand blown ones that have to be hand washed. One of my favorite charitable orgs is having a yard sale soon and that is the kind of thing they are selling.
That *is* a lot of glasses. You should have a blog buddy party...
Sure you're not running a bar over there? That's what it reminds me of!
My daughter said "Tweety bird" once n got years of nothing but! Poor thing...
Sometimes good companionship means more than all else-
I hope there weren't tons of cars!
I hope you got to drink some wine!
Jannie, that's weird. ;)
My parents kind of live separate lives in the same home, except when they play Scrabble.

Ah - wouldn't that be fun? I would love to do that.

There was a glut of Cat in the Hat products a few years ago and we all gave my brother-in-law ties, caps and such because of his love of that book. A niece finally said we should stop. :)

That is sad, but at least they have some common ground.
