Great home, glad it is over and birthday chat

- These horses munching grass in what truly must be a wonderful place in which to be a horse.

- My cat Sophie helpfully sleeping in her crate when I arrive home to take her to her vet appointment. Her initial outraged meow as I shut the door turns to "Woe to me!" meowing all the way there. She turns extremely quiet for her examination, until the shot pinches a little too much and she whirls her head and hisses at the vet. "That's my girl!" I think. :)

- The veterinarian is my good friend and I wish him a belated happy birthday. He smiles and points to his very hip assistant and says, "His birthday is February 14." J. rolls his eyes and nods his head, he has been ribbed about that all his life. I tell him that birth date could work to his advantage in so many ways.

Trust me it can. My wife's is the day before, so I get perpetually whacked each and every year.

Oh it could, it could. ;-)

Those horses must be happy!

Place a fence in front of those horses and they will endanger their lives to reach through it for the grass on the other side regardless of the bounty they are standing in.

Ah, Sophie the attack cat! And she hid it so well at first:)

Why would anyone resent a Feb. 14th birthday. Just think you would be a forever valentine for your parents.

I was a horse in a former life and lived in that field! Thanks for bringing back the memories of what a special place it is!

Por Sophie, I hope it wasn't too long a ride to the vet? I know our wiener dog whines if he has to be in the car even for 10 seconds.

G -

I was thinking more along the lines of he could tell women he is the LOVE man! :)

Fireblossom -

They look happy to me. On the second photo I took, they all turned their heads to look at me, but it didn't show the mountains as much.

Granny Annie -

Good points. When Sophie came out of her crate at home, she walked around and looked at everything to make sure nothing had changed in her one hour journey. We don't enjoy those trips.

Jannie -

You're welcome, my formerly equine friend!

It takes about 15 minutes - she cries the whole way there and the whole way back. When we get there she turns her back in her crate and shows them her behind. :)

Glad your home safe. My wires cat lade hide on one of those trips to the vet. The shot was too close to a nerve. I'm so glad my birthday is out in the middle of nowhere. Don’t you wish people with a place like that would let you ride their horse now and then?

Missy and Stripey skeedaddle the minute a crate appears - lol!

That is such a lovely scene. I'd love to go and visit with those horses :)

Aw, Sophie. Glad she showed some spirit at last! We had to pack up the boys for this long weekend, as we had no one here to oversee them and weren't sure how hot the house would get with no A.C. -- and Booty cried a *lot* at first on the car ride down, I suppose remembering his last vet visit. But then it seemed to occur to him that this trip was different somehow, certainly longer, and he calmed down, thank goodness. :)

That does look like a wonderful place to be a horse!

There actually is a place like that nearby in Hiawassee, Georgia in which a horse stable lets you ride their horses by the hour. My friends sprang that on me once. It was fun, kind of. :)

Talon -

I usually have to trick her and close doors, etc. It was so easy this time.

Meredith -

She was pitifully mewing on the ride back home and as I was getting on the Stone Mountain freeway, she looked up and yelled at me to hurry up. I'm glad Booty adjusted - bless his heart.

Mama Zen -

They look as if they have a great life.

Poor Sophie- I used to let kitties ride on the seat with me, til I got the truck- now I feel guilty putting loud mews kitties in the back (it's got a cap) n don't have to hear it!
Sounds like a nice vet-

My vet's domestic partner is one of my oldest friends. I lucked out in the friend department when he met R.
