- A garden candelabra turned into a bird art refuge. My head is still lingering by the river and surrounding threshold. Until next time...
- The view looking left. Somebody lost their red ball. See it?
- And right. A magical place. I always imagine gnomes and other hidden creatures when I stand on this spot.
A self-indulgent week of sharing photos from the Hiawassee River. I hope you all have a lovely weekend...

Lynn,
I love all of these pictures, thanks so much for sharing them. That last one, especially, really does look magical...
lovely pictures.
thank you for sharing.
Ummm, I love sharing in your self-induglence, Lynn. We are there with you. Beautiful! What a spot for a morning coffee, and afternoon tea and an evening wine.
xo
Gnomes you don’t see and the red ball you saw a lot
was there too much of a good thing or not
You say your head seem to be lingering there
through your photo you’ve giving us memories to share
You have earned all the rights to an indulgent week
on the Hiawassee river and the magical place you seek
That garden photo was cute with its bird art stand there
for even art needs a refuge some where
After this I'd better work on my replys. LOL
Have a great weekend.
I love unexpected art like that - it's the best use of recyled materials ever. Plus, I'm partial to birds so this is even sweeter :)
It's wonderful to have those places that bring us back to ourselves...renew us...centre us...and take us to magical places.
Have a stupendous weekend, Lynn!
Lance -
It's the place I go to when I need peace during the day.
Jingle -
Thank you for coming by!
Jannie -
Ah - that beverage sharing sounds lovely!
xo

Wow - a great poem about my blog post! I like it! Especially the making memories part. :)
Talon -
I liked her use of birds, too, and have one to take her next time I'm up.
You have a stupendous weekend, too!
I totally want to visit! And I saw the red ball ;)
When I look right with you, I feel like I need a cup of hot tea, and to sit down there in the shade and wiggle my toes in the mud on the bank. :) I've enjoyed your reminiscences, Lynn!
How beautiful and peaceful. Your photos always bring me joy, Chica!!
Riot Kitty -
I could see a spot of red from the back porch and finally went to investigate. I kind of liked it that it added that dot of color.
Meredith -
I'm glad - and that sounds fun, to sit with you and wiggle toes with tea. :) This was just last Sunday morning. There was a fly fisherman in the river just hidden by the foliage.
Shilal -
I'm just in the gratitude business at this blog. :)
Ily -
I almost missed you! I am so glad my photos bring you joy - that's what it is all about, my friend.
Oh my gosh, I just love your photos of the river! And yes, someone's ball decided to set to sea, didn't it? Or, set to river, lol.
To answer your question at my blog, yes indeed, the "Bonnie & Clyde death car" toured carnivals for about a decade after their demise.
What a gorgeous spot on the river!
Fireblossom -
There was once one of those plastic white chairs you see around that stack - that floated down the river and got caught on the mini-rapids rocks just up to the right. Someone finally hiked to the middle and got it. I don't know how things get away from people like that.
I'm glad you like the photos - I love it there.
Mama Zen -
Thanks MZ! I think so, too.
Very cool birdie thing! Poor kid who lost the ball-
The 3rd pic looks just like where Smegal in Lord of the Rings movie 3 went fishing to find the Ring of Power! Definately a magical place!
You are fortunate to spend special moments there.
Snaggle -
I am fortunate. I have never watched the Ring trilogy - I put it off for some reason. Now I have an incentive - thanks for the heads up on the view!
I believe for a fact that the gnomes and elves vanished into hiding during a game of ball when you appeared to take the photos. It is a good thing you left the red ball because I hear they can be quite harsh when their belongings are taken:)
Granny Annie -
I love the idea of elves and gnomes playing kickball!
Lovely set of photos. I love the birds. I, too saw the red ball. Did you know that Constable always added something red to his paintings?
Joe -
I did not know that about Constable - I will look that up. Interesting.
Beautiful photos!
Thank you Sage!
