- The shadows the trees make through the awning at The Corner Bakery. At first I thought it was a printed pattern on the awning.
- Ordering the same sandwich as friend Leisa does because I know I will think hers looked better if I don't. :) A grilled panini - the California Grille - grilled zucchini, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, and pesto with fresh spinach and provolone cheese on whole grain harvest bread. So good.
- Around the cocktail hour, meeting client Lisa B. at a Virginia Highlands neighborhood bar. We dispense with business quickly and move on to a have a beer, a chat and to watch regulars come in and greet each other.

Trees can paint great pictures
with the shadows they do cast.
That sandwich sounds so great
I hope you didn't eat it too fast.
Some beer some chat with ones
you meet, true friends always last.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

I had a good day. Both Leisa and Lisa are fun to eat and drink with. :)
Oh I wolfed that sandwich - I did.
Sometimes I think shadows are more interesting than the original object. That would be a neat pattern on that awning.
lol @ ordering the same thing. That's a great solution to sandwich envy :)
People watching is fun.
I love that picture. At first, I thought it was a print on the awning, too.
LYNN! It's only 9:30, I don't eat breakfast, and of course your blog makes me hungry!!
Great photo. Have you considered putting together a book of these?
Those shadows look like an elegant Waverly print. Totally fooled me. I love that you captured this clever meeting of nature and man-made art. :)
And how lovely to go to a bar in the Highlands! Of course I'm wondering which one now. I'll guess Neighbor's. And just typing that has me daydreaming of their blackened salmon salad with the candied walnuts and bleu cheese crumbles... yum!

I actually thought it was a pattern on the awning at first when I spotted in from inside the restaurant and then I saw it was moving. I like to think someone planned that natural pattern that way.

Same here! :)

I hope you've had some good lunch by now. I do love good food, can you tell? :)
I had not thought of putting together a book of photos, but it is something to think about.

Can you tell where the awning is? Right of Peachtree Street in the Corner Bakery within Maggianos in Buckhead.
We met at Fontaine's Oyster House (next to Highland Tap). My client goes there every Sunday night with her husband, so she's a regular, too.
Love the shadows in the photo too. Sounds like a wonderful day, you seem to get to go to a great variety of places. :)

I do like to get out, but I like my at home time, too. Sometimes I feel downright reclusive on the weekends.
Awesome awning view- Don't have any alike that around here. Interesting sandwich description- never tried a panini yet. Lucky to get some fun in your business day... I could sure use some time out one of these days!
Snaggle -
That is a definite perk of my job - getting to get out. I hope you get some time out soon.
Who said beer?? :)
Those leaf shadows are so whimsically beautiful. How pretty. And sweet that you saw the beauty of such a delicate tapestry and shared it -- but that's just you being you.
xoxo
And as to your comment to Joe, are you devinely reclusive this weekend? I swear I could become a total recluse, except for Internetting, of course. :)
xoxo
Jannie -
Thanks - I spotted those shadows and had to get the photo. (Hopefully not bothering the folks outside too much.)
On the reclusiveness - I hardly ever actually get to do that. I spent yesterday with Mom in Macon and all the traveling people made I-75 north a crawlingway instead of expressway. :) But I have the afternoon today to hole up.
