Ireland forever, bit of green and special glimpse

- Sophie resisted posing in her sleeping spot with an Erin Go Bragh button, reacting with great suspicion, and resolving only to pat it.

- The button was purchased on the street at the Saint Patrick's Day celebration in Savannah, Georgia a few years ago. A good, albeit somewhat raucous, time. They are expecting 400,000 people there today. I will just dig out a bit of green to wear today in honor and leave this rather cumbersome button at home. :)

- For an special Irish treat today, you might visit my friend Whitney's blog, "Glimpses of Grace" - a recent post features a breathtaking visit to the village of Castlerock, in Northern Ireland.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Green doesn't suit me. :D I look like a frog.

Ireland is on my to-visit list, not just because of my sis, but that's an extra incentive. Happy St. Paddy's to you!!

Joe -

I don't have much green either - in honor of the day, I am wearing my dragonfly brooch that has a bit of green in it.

And oh my - did the cat hair show up in that photo! Fortunately she sticks to that one spot for the most part - it is the futon in my home office. There is a white sheet over the mattress part and a towel over that. When there are guests to my office, I whisk it off. :)

Jewel -

I don't know if I knew that your sis lives in Ireland. I want to go, too - it is on my must-visit list. I need to sell a lot more printing first!

I love how suspicious Sophie was! I have several of those "hairy" blankets all over the house - lol!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! One of my favorite authors (Maeve Binchy) is Irish. And my grandfather was Irish so I have a wee bit of the Irish running through my veins. :)

Sophie is shedding like crazy now. She was so funny when I tried to prop that button up on her - "no way!" I could just hear her thinking that. :)

I love Maeve Binchy, too! No Irish here, all Scottish and Welsh on my mom's side. But I like to participate in the holiday.

I've heard it's best to just pet some of the Irish! :-)

Cute!

And lovely pictures on your friend's blog...I have always wanted to go to Ireland.

BTW, Joey, I very much doubt you look like a frog ;)

Aw, Sophie. I love the "pat" of suspicious curiosity. ;)

Our cats are mid-spring-shed, too -- but both decided today that it was perfect to nap on our freshly washed laundry. Silly me, I thought I'd get around to folding it after I finished working -- and now it looks in need of a wash again, esp. since Booty for some unknown reason likes to roll around in the dirt in springtime.

Your friend Whitney's blog was gorgeous. I'll be stopping by there again sometime!

Lady M -

I'll keep that in mind. :)

Riot Kitty -

I'm glad you went to visit Whitney's blog - it is lovely.

Meredith -

I know - when I pet Sophie I the fur seems to fly and she doesn't like to be combed. Issues. Sigh. :) That is funny that your cats like the laundry.

Whitney's blog seemed perfect for this day.

Thanks for the shout-out Lynn! I hope you had a great St. Paddy's Day! :)

Whitney -

It was a pretty good day, although I didn't do anything in particular to celebrate it other than the wearing of a bit of green and my Irish-themed post. But the post called out for something truly Irish and I thought of you immediately! :)

Sophie is so cute, taking interest in your button!
Hope your green Day was Green enough!
I once did a post
http://snaggedt.blogspot.com/2006/03/erin-go-bragh.html
about that
Anyhoo I usually don't celebrate it, due to not being one eensy speck Irish- n half Scottish! The othe rhalf is French, so I'm supposed to wear orange...

Snaggle -

No Irish here either. So we are fellow Scots. How about that? I have heard about the orange thing - but it is not practiced in the south.

I love Sophie, of course!

And wore a green boa out on my walk with the dogs on Wednesday!

Jannie -

You have a green boa? Wow. xo

Snaggle Tooth said...

Sorry, but I have to mention at first glance I thought that Jannie comment said "Green bra"!
