- A quick trip for work to middle Georgia, where flowering trees like this one line the roads. Open road and miles of petals.
- A pre-meeting stop at a nearby coffee shop and listening to a man (who must be a local judge) talk to the woman behind the counter about the open house that was held for the new "enhanced" jail. If desired, one could even spend the night there. No thanks, but it makes me wonder why there is so much effort to make the jail especially special. :)
- Overhearing a co-worker express his frustration with not being able to find something on the internet. I remind him of the time he fixed my broken desk drawer and locate his automobile paint distributor for him. Now he can paint his hobby "hot rod."

I always smile when I hear you speak of Middle Georgia, 'cause it evokes for me someplace "Lord Of The Rings"-esque. There was a middle something-or-other in that land, right? Is Middle Georgia fraught with medieval creatures and warring peeps?? :)
xo
Jannie -
I'm glad anything I write makes you smile. My job is done! :)
I think you can find creatures and warring anywhere. Georgia is a wonderful state with district regions: North Georgia has the Blue Ridge Mountains and a little farther down, my chosen city of Atlanta. Middle Georgia and South Georgia is part of the antebellum trail - full of Civil War history. Certainly some warring peeps back then! :) Middle Georgia is particularly beautiful. And on the eastern side we have the beaches and islands. Just lovely.
I too have pondered the attraction of spending a night in a new penal facility. Is it supposed to convert us to crime so we can have nice surroundings?

I envisioned flat screen TVs and a McDonald's. :)
Jail - the new Motel Six! lol!
Love that photo - so beautiful!
I suspect that the "special" jails are coming on line now because so much of our penal system has now been outsourced to corporate incarceration specialists -- and they need to prove it was worth all that money! As for spending a night in jail... might be a nice service if you had a *really* unruly teenager, LOL. ;)
Those miles of pear trees in bloom must have made for one lovely drive.
Spend the night in jail - by choice? No thanks! Nice photo.

I wouldn't want to find out how nice jail is. :)
Meredith -
Yes - the miles and miles of trees were beautiful. Madison is such a pretty town, too, and it is exploding into blossoms.
Riot Kitty -
Like Meredith said, they might be doing that to "scare straight" some teens.
You are blessed indeed to have pretty blossoms lining your route-
Maybe the Sheriff's nephew is in the slammer? Or he likes to sleep in after long shifts...
Nice of you to "rescue" your coworker from side-click hell!
Snaggle -
He announced to a group of us that he needed help and I jumped at the chance because he is always so nice to me. One morning a large plastic bag flew toward my car and went under it and attached itself to the underside of the car. I didn't even realize that had happened and he spotted it in the parking lot. He had me pull it up the loading dock ramp, got on his back and scraped the plastic off the parts underneath, where it had melted onto it. Nice nice man.
